Chelsea Lineup vs Hull City: Palmer, João Pedro & Rogers Start

Chelsea have named a strong starting XI for today’s Premier League clash against Hull City at Stamford Bridge, with manager Xabi Alonso making a couple of changes to his side.

The Blues come into the game looking to respond after last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal. They also arrive with confidence after beating Leeds United 6-3 in the Carabao Cup during the week.

Chelsea starting XI

Chelsea line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation:

Emi Martínez
Jorrel Hato – Wesley Fofana – Levi Colwill
Malo Gusto – Romeo Lavia – Reece James (C) – Pedro Neto
Morgan Rogers – Cole Palmer
João Pedro

The confirmed lineup shows Malo Gusto starting at wing-back, while Maxence Lacroix drops to the bench. Josh Acheampong is also among the substitutes.

Palmer, Rogers and João Pedro lead the attack

Chelsea's attacking trio will be one of the main talking points at Stamford Bridge. Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers will operate behind João Pedro, who has made an excellent start to the campaign and was recently named Premier League Player of the Month for August.

Pedro Neto also starts, giving Chelsea another attacking outlet from the right side.

Hull City unchanged up front

Hull City, meanwhile, will rely on a strong defensive structure and the experience of Ollie McBurnie in attack.

Their starting XI is:

Tzolakis; Coyle (C), Ajayi, Egan, Mendy, Giles, Belloumi, Crooks, Slater, Stroud, McBurnie.

Hull have made an impressive start to life back in the Premier League, collecting seven points from their opening three matches while keeping three clean sheets. That makes today's contest a fascinating battle between Chelsea's attacking quality and Hull's disciplined defence.

Chelsea will be expected to dominate possession and create chances, but Hull's unbeaten start means Alonso's side cannot afford to underestimate their opponents.

With Palmer, Rogers and João Pedro all starting, Chelsea have plenty of attacking firepower. The big question is whether they can finally break through Hull's impressive defence.
