Cole Palmer and Rogers Called Up by England for Sep-Oct International Break

Chelsea stars Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have been named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming September and October international break, giving the Blues two representatives in the Three Lions’ 27-man squad.

Palmer returns to the England setup after missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad. The Chelsea attacking midfielder has made a strong start to the new campaign, and Tuchel highlighted his regular starts, match-winning influence and return to scoring numbers when explaining his selection.

Rogers, meanwhile, retains his place after representing England at the World Cup. The Chelsea forward made seven appearances as England reached the semi-finals before beating France in the third-place play-off.

The pair have also impressed at club level, combining with João Pedro to one of the best attacking partnerships in the Premier League.

Chelsea players who missed out

There was no place in the senior England squad for Reece James, who is currently absent through injury. Levi Colwill was also not selected.

The England squad also includes former Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, now with Como, while Lewis Hall, who came through Chelsea's academy, has earned a recall after moving to Newcastle United.

England fixtures

England begin their 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign against reigning world champions Spain at Wembley on Saturday, September 26.

The Three Lions then travel to Prague to face Czechia on September 29, before taking on Croatia in Rijeka on October 3. England's fourth match of the window comes against Czechia at Wembley on October 6.

For Chelsea supporters, Palmer and Rogers' involvement provides another opportunity for two key attacking players to continue their fine form ahead of a busy domestic campaign.
